David M. Ostrowski, MD, St. Vincent's Orthopedics, PC
Specialties: Endoscopic Carpal Tunnel Release
Dr. Ostrowski was among the first surgeons in Alabama to perform endoscopic carpal tunnel release. The endoscopic device utilizes a camera and fiber optic cable inserted beneath the transverse carpal ligament via a small incision in the wrist. Traditional "open" carpal tunnel release is performed through a larger incision in the more sensitive palm. The advantage of minimally invasive endoscopic release is that patients can move their hand and wrist immediately after surgery and resume light activities in just a few days.
